Chandubi Lake
Chandubi Lake is located at the foothills of garo Mountain. It is formed by earthquake in Assam on 12 June 1897. Due to earthquake, forest went down and formed Lake. It is famous for it's natural beauty and lagoon formed under water. The area is surrounded by small and very Clean villages and dense forest. This region is the hub of areca nut(supari) and tea. You can see so many tea gardens on the way. There are so many trees of areca nut.
How to reach Chandubi Lake-
The distance from the city is about 60 km. You can go by taxi or by your own vehicle two wheeler or four wheeler. Road connectivity is very good. When I went (17 Dec 21) there, that time road work (National Highway) was in progress. Bus service also provided from maligaon and from Mirza to maduki village near to the lake.
Best time to visit -
There is a traditional fair called chandubi festival is celebrated in the month of January from 01 to 05 Jan. So this is the best time to visit. In winter season you can see migratory birds which make your tour memorable.
Maduki bazaar -
There is a small village near to the lake named Maduki. On every Saturday Maduki bazaar is set up there where you can purchase traditional items. I eat momos there and purchase a bedsheets.
Tickets -
The ticket price For boating is 50 rs per person.There is no extra charge for photography and videography.
This is a picnic spot. Picnic spot area ticket is rs 20 for vehicle. Young couples visit here for pre wedding shoot. The person who is interested in photography must visit at once. Over all this place is one time visit. You can feel very relax in neutral beauty..
